How full is the gas tank right now?

By early June, fatigue is real for many students. Even highly capable students can start operating on lower energy after months of deadlines, studying, and constant mental output. That doesn’t mean students are lazy or unmotivated — it means they’ve been carrying a long academic load.

The key during this stretch is honesty.

If your energy is lower, adjust your approach accordingly. This may not be the time for marathon study sessions or unrealistic daily expectations. Instead, focus on consistency and intentional work blocks. What absolutely needs attention today? What can realistically get done without completely draining yourself?

For high school students, the challenge is staying engaged long enough to finish the year properly. Finals still matter, routines still matter, and these last few weeks can still influence outcomes significantly.

For postsecondary students, spring/summer terms can create the illusion that there’s “more time” because the weather feels less academic. In reality, these semesters move quickly, and falling behind can happen faster than expected.

This is also a good moment to revisit balance.

Getting outside, sleeping properly, exercising, and taking small mental resets are not distractions from academic success — they help sustain it. A completely empty gas tank rarely produces strong academic performance.

Summer is close enough to see now.

But there’s still a stretch left to manage first.

The goal for June isn’t perfection. It’s finishing steadily while recognizing that energy, focus, and self-awareness matter just as much as effort this time of year.
